Here, we unpick the story, pullout the disney-fied stuffing, trim off constricting buttons and inhibiting frills, and change oppressive patterns.
Imagine finding a dowdy garment made out of exquisite material … We salvage this material, we free it from a preconceived form, we create with it something inspiring, something that flows that allows our imagination to move freely.
Through conversation, we pass the story among us. Warming it as we hold it, each in our own way, leaving a thumbprint or the pattern of our palms, as we hand it from woman to woman. We find ways to retell and review well-known folktales and reclaim their manifold meanings.
All you Wise Women, come together, bring a plate and a good serve of fresh understanding and make use of the wisdom in the tale to shape a better life for yourself and those you care about
Or start your own Wise Women Story Circle, share a folktale and conversation and build stronger bonds with women in your community.
From 3.00 p.m. – 5.00 p.m.
